| On my way back to America from Spain two days ago, I was in the Madrid airport when a car bomb went off in the parking lot. It was really scary, but overall a good story to tell. I had just checked my bags and was going through the security checkpoint when I heard a big explosion, immediately saw smoke filling the terminal, security guards running towards the bang, and I decided to be scared at that moment. It's too long of a story to write on xanga, but I'll put pics up someday. Turns out it was ETA--a Spanish terrorist group that has been trying to get independence from Spain during the last 40 years or so. Two people are still missing, 11 people were hospitalized, but other than that it just destroyed alot of property. I've always felt quite removed from the videos we see from Iraq or Isreal everyday, but Saturday I actually believed that the world is a completely unpredictable, insecure, unstable place. People are mean. Can we please stop bombing each other? | | |
| Hi friends. I got offered a job today and I think I´m going to accept it. Here´s the catch--I have to move to Austin, TX. Anyone know anyone in Austin? I hate the idea of Texas, but I hear Austin has a cool live music scence, good cycling, and lots of young people. I like those three things. I don´t like moving again, starting over, meeting new people, blah, blah blah. So it goes. Also, I´m going back to Spain for 2 weeks over Christmas! Yea! That will end my 2 year vacation from coporate America and with 2007 I will enter office job/40 week/salary life. So thrilled about that. That´s my news. P.S. The job is with International Studies Abroad, www.studiesabroad.com , and get this--my title would be "Spain site specialist." As Borat would say, "Nice." | | |
| So, it´s been a long time. I´m currently residing in Denver, still looking for the right job. It´s taking much longer than I thought. My boyfriend was here in September, we travelled a bit, he got a taste of America. We went to Florida
I saw some my favorites in Indy
Audrey Elder got married
Jorge went back to his casa in Spain. And I moved to Denver.
Here I am. Currently bartending and serving at a new restaurant out here. It´s been fun meeting people, but I forgot how annoying it is to work at a restaurant and depend on your customers to pay your income. But it´s buying me some time to apply and interview at various places. That´s all. | | |
| I'm noticing a sharp decline in xanga readers (with the exception of Mr. Berridge, my one true loyal fan). Am I not cool anymore because I'm living in the United States? Do I have to be ranting and raging about my European travels and anecdotes to get readers around here?
Anyway, I'm trying to find a place to live: Denver or Indianapolis?
